Oral Pathology
During every check-up, not only the teeth but also the mucous membranes, soft tissues, and tongue are examined in order to detect any oral cavity pathologies of various types. It is very important to intercept these lesions because some may be precancerous lesions that, in a small percentage of cases, can develop into actual cancerous lesions. The main risk factors are smoking and alcohol. Early diagnosis of these lesions is essential. As this is a very specialized field, our practice collaborates with the oral pathology department at the Molinette Dental School Lingotto in Turin, referring cases detected during routine visits for further diagnostic evaluation.
