Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry focuses on the oral health of children from birth through adolescence.
Gaining the child’s trust and ensuring their comfort is the primary goal that the dentist must aim for, as it is essential for the proper implementation of therapeutic and preventive protocols and for the future relationship between the child and the dentist, even when they become an adult.
The specific task of the pediatric dentist is also to focus on the prevention of cavities, which involves motivating and teaching proper tooth brushing techniques, providing dietary advice, and applying all preventive measures such as salivary tests, fluoride varnishes, and sealants. Additionally, the pediatric dentist is able to monitor, correct, and prevent developmental anomalies of the teeth and jawbones, thereby preventing and treating malocclusions, correcting bad habits, and treating dental trauma.
